A new year means looking forward to the year to come and new beginnings. For our stores, it also means a whole new collection of empowering nonprofit organizations to support through our Tokens for Bags® program!
One particular charity that focuses on new beginnings is Pink Door in Houston. Pink Door’s mission is to help women begin a new life after fighting cancer through their “My Pink Wish” program. Support means different things for different women, and can range anywhere from building a therapeutic garden to financial assistance.
“My Pink Wish” is a program that allows cancer survivors to apply for assistance with what they need to get back on their feet and start a new life after cancer. Pink Door was inspired by Cortney Cole Hall (Founder & President) witnessing her own mother’s battle with breast cancer. Cortney was proud of her mother’s accomplishments, but wondered how much easier it could have been if she had more financial support. She decided to find a way to make a difference in women’s lives after cancer and started Pink Door.
Pink Door helps lighten the burden of worrying about “affording recovery,” so that women cancer survivors can focus on beginning a new life. Buffalo Exchange is a proud supporter of Pink Door!
